Jim couldn’t help but smile. Of course, he tried to hide that smile from Blair. It would do no good for Sandburg to see how much he was enjoying the spectacle that was happening. Blair Sandburg running around the loft, trying to find something.

“What are you looking for, Chief?” Jim stopped Blair in mid-motion.

Blair pulled out of the hold Jim had on him. “I’m looking for my glasses, Jim. Have you seen them?”

Jim couldn’t hold in the laugh that escaped.

Blair scowled at Jim. “I don’t find anything remotely amusing, Ellison!”

“On your head, Chief.”

Blair reached up, feeling the frame of his glasses.

“Anything else you need my help with, Sandburg?”

“No.” The word was soft and mumbled but Jim heard it clearly.

Blair looked over at Jim. “Thank you, Jim. I guess I’m a little nervous.”

“You’ll do fine, Dr. Sandburg. That has a nice ring to it.”

“Yeah, it does at that.”

“Are we ready to go? It wouldn’t look good for you to be late to your own graduation.”

Blair put the glasses on his face. “I’m ready to go. And you made sure I wouldn’t be late.”

“Never hurts to be prepared.”

I really enjoyed this post. You write about this topic very well. There are many cherished moments in life, why not wear a beautiful dress! When looking back on special memories of your child wearing a gorgeous dress, it will make a fond memory.

These are my stories chronicling the continuing adventures of Jim Ellison and Blair Sandburg, Sentinel and Guide, partners and friends.
